From reconstruction to the Baroque church
After the disaster of 1466, the collegiate church was rebuilt. The baptismal font, made as early as 1472, bears witness to the rapid restoration of the church.
In the 17th and 18th centuries, the interior changed profoundly. As in many churches at the time, the walls and columns were completely whitewashed. New furnishings accompanied this transformation and gradually gave the medieval building a Baroque appearance.
Several traces of this decoration remain today: the pulpit, the painting of the Baptism of Christ and the four large statues of holy bishops.
